Position Purpose: To take customer orders and process payments. They may also work on preparing and expediting food orders. In between customers, crew members perform cleaning duties, such as clearing tables and sanitizing food preparation areas.

 

Scope of Responsibilities:

 Customer Service

  • Greet customers warmly, record orders, and serve food and beverages with a positive and helpful attitude.
  • Answer questions about the menu and handle special requests where possible.
  • Input orders accurately into the point-of-sale system and process payments (cash, card) while calculating change quickly and correctly.
  • Effectively handle and report all customer complaints, suggestions, or requests to the manager on duty.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Food Preparation & Quality

  • Work together with the kitchen team to prepare and assemble food according to McDonald’s standards.
  • Follow cooking instructions, safety procedures, and sanitation requirements.
  • Regularly check freezer, refrigerator, and heating equipment temperatures to ensure food quality and safety.
  • Monitor stock levels and replenish items as required.

Restaurant Operations & Cleanliness

  • Maintain restaurant cleanliness daily, including clearing tables, returning trays, sweeping and mopping floors, servicing restrooms, and sanitizing utensils and equipment.
  • Regularly check if equipment is operating properly and report any maintenance needs.
  • Support in unloading and storing deliveries safely and correctly.
  • Report all potential safety hazards or employee accidents to the manager on duty.

Teamwork & Professionalism

  • Work and communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
  • Follow and reinforce people minimums (e.g., uniforms, punctuality).
  • Cooperate during peak hours and adapt to shift requirements, weekends, and holidays.
  • Maintain a respectful and professional working environment.
 

Skills:

The Crew Member is expected to consistently demonstrate the following competencies at the levels indicated:

  • No prior experience required (training provided).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and commitment to high standards of service.
  • Flexibility in working hours.
 

Grooming and Appearance Standards:

Crew members are the face of McDonald’s hospitality and must maintain the highest standards of personal presentation. Employees in this role are required to:

 

  • Always be well-groomed, with clean and professional attire, Maintain personal hygiene and a neat appearance
  • Avoid wearing jewellery, including earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and rings as part of the Food safety Standards
  • Present themselves confidently and courteously when interacting with guests
  • Follow the company's grooming policy as part of health, safety, and brand image standards
