Credit Risk Analyst
Our client is looking for a Credit Risk Analyst who will positively impact lives, learn more about and contribute to the Fintech industry, and be involved in multiple products, projects, and technologies. The ideal candidate for this role will work with a team of analysts and be responsible for managing the credit risk and developing risk policies and strategies that will reduce credit risk to the business and assist in making profitable credit decisions.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Credit Risk Manager with ideating and implementing group exposure rules
- Assist the Credit Risk Manager in developing and maintaining credit risk strategy
- Set, establish and monitor credit limit structures and policies
- Build scorecards and analytics models
- Manage and monitor credit risk-related projects
- Oversee the modelling of the credit portfolio and its impact on the business
- Develop and manage provisioning model, profitability models and legal transfer models
- Manage bad debt, cash flow and risk forecasting models
- Assist the operations with budgeting models
- Support the use of predictive dialler technology in the Collections Call Centre
- Support Vetting, including fraud management processes
- Actively engage with all other areas of the business
- Use SQL to obtain data from the Data Warehouse
- Analyse the data to answer business questions and solve problems
- Project management to ensure delivery on all projects
Experience & Skills
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Credit Risk or related field
- A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or equivalent BCom, B Bus Sci, B Eng, BSc.
- Good computer literacy skills with a proficiency in MS Excel
- The ability to creatively solve problems
- The ability to interrogate and interpret numerical and statistical information
- Proven experience with scorecards, analytics and portfolio modelling
