We’re hiring a bilingual (French/English) Registered Nurse for a non-bedside role in Mauritius. Provide expert medical case management and global assistance services with International SOS.
Role Overview
- Deliver high-quality medical case management and assistance services globally.
- Provide telephonic medical assessments and evidence-based advice.
- Collaborate with international medical teams and logistical experts.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
Medical Case Management
- Conduct thorough telephonic assessments of patients worldwide.
- Provide tailored medical advice and manage complex cases.
- Monitor caseloads, ensuring clinical safety and contractual compliance.
- Liaise with treating doctors, hospitals, and clients for updates and coordination.
Pre-Trip Travel Advice
- Stay informed on global health risks and travel-related medical concerns.
- Advise clients on vaccinations, health preparedness, and deployment suitability.
- Collaborate with internal public health and security teams for tailored solutions.
Medical Referrals & Network Services
- Refer clients to appropriate healthcare providers using a global network.
- Conduct site surveys and update provider information for quality assurance.
- Ensure referrals meet the highest standards of care and client needs.
Medical Transportation
- Assess fitness to travel and recommend appropriate transport methods.
- Coordinate logistics with airlines and air ambulance providers.
- Act as a medical escort when required (non-mandatory).
- Ensure compliance with International SOS Medical Transportation Standards.
General Duties
- Maintain accurate and confidential case documentation.
- Ensure GDPR compliance and proper medical handovers.
- Prepare client-specific reports and support service recovery when needed.
- Promote evidence-based decision-making and quality service delivery.
Promotion & Representation
- Represent International SOS professionally in client interactions.
- Participate in recruitment and branding events.
- Attend internal and external meetings as required.
Professional Development
- Engage in continuous learning and mentoring of peers.
- Reflect on performance and seek opportunities for growth.
- Work towards progression within the Renumeration and Progression Plan (RAPP).
🔹 Candidate Profile
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong clinical knowledge and acute care experience.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficient in computer systems and documentation.
Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse (Mauritius or home country).
- Public Health or Travel Health degree (desirable).
Experience
- Acute care experience essential.
- Medical assistance or travel/public health experience desirable.
Languages
- Fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
- Additional languages are a plus.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional travel.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
