Our client in the financial sector is recruiting a Client Accountant - Review
This position reports to the Team Lead, Review and is responsible for coordinating with the clients for daily query resolution and closely works with other functions implementing change controls to improve operational efficiency and robust controls. The role also involves working with auditors to ensure a smooth audit process in relation to the financial statements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carry out a full and detailed review of all Financial Statements and other financial schedules as prepared by the Accounting Department
- Review the minute books, statutory records, trust documents and correspondence files
- Companies for which financial statements are prepared
- Assist in maintaining the integrity of the accounting records for the clients of the Trust Company
- Ensure agreed standards are met in relation to technical matters, presentation, consistency and accuracy
- Provide general accounting technical support to the Accounting team, keep up with new technical developments
- Maintain a sound technical knowledge of our various computer systems
- Ensure accuracy, completeness and adherence to accounts preparation standards is maintained
- Highlighting trends in issues revealed during accounts reviews and escalating/resolving appropriately
- Provide general accounting technical support to the Accounting and Bookkeeping team and keep up with new technical developments
- Ensure compliance, procedures and policies are being followed
- Adhere to Key Operating Procedures at all times
- Ensure that Suspicious Transaction Reports are filed with the Money Laundering Reporting Officer
Your qualifications and skills include:
- Fully qualified ACCA (or equivalent) with solid accounting experience, preferably in a Trust or financial services environment.
- Advanced knowledge in financial statement preparation for trusts and companies, with a thorough understanding of relevant legislation, accounting standards, and compliance.
- In-depth experience using computerised accounting systems and MS Office Suite. Familiarity with accounting software used in the Trust and or Banking sector is a plus.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and suggest possible solutions. Capable of managing both the administration and process risks associated with trust and company accounts.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment, supporting colleagues while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Able to evaluate multiple options and determine the best course of action to resolve issues or improve processes.
