The Chief Storekeeper has the main responsibility to ensure an efficient operation at Main Store level. He needs to ensure proper stock level is maintained and that there is an overall proper safeguarding of these inventories.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not be limited to the following areas and activities. At management discretion, direction may be given for task outside the scope of work described.

  • To ensure the company’s inventories are properly safeguarded and controlled against any kinds of loss.
  • To ensure proper receiving of Wine Containers and proper safeguarding.
  • To ensure that valuation of inventories are properly made for being reflected in the financial statement.
  • To ensure compliance with applicable company’s policy.
  • To maintain the inventory level at the minimum carrying and ordering costs.
  • Supervise and control subordinates to discharge their duties in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Ensure teamwork and efficient operation of the company by developing team spirit within store’s staff as well as good coordination with main Finance Office.
  • To receive goods from the Receiving Clerk with the proper and complete documentation.
  • To ensure the proper storing and arrangement of stocks.
  • To ensure required hygiene and safety standards are adhered to.
  • To responsible for storerooms’ records.
  • To issue and reorder of stock, and to ensure that no merchandises will leave the storerooms without properly authorized requisition.
  • To maintain the maximum and minimum par on all items.
  • To coordinate a monthly physical inventory with cost control team.
  • To coordinate with the Cost Control and Purchasing staff in keeping contact with other department concerned and suppliers, regarding the quantity and quality of stocks purchased.
  • To coordinate periodic departmental training for staff in the area of store management.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Executive Chef, F&B Director, Cost Controller and Receiving Supervisor in order to minimize food and beverage costs and maximise Food and Beverage quality and quantity for used.
  • To be ready and responsible when assigned to perform any other duties as designed by supervisors.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Qualification:

  • Middle or Secondary Education + Additional  training or certificates in the relevant field is a plus.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in hotel industry as Chief Storekeeper/Head of Store/Store Manager.
  • Proven experience working in a top luxury resorts is a plus.

Technical skills:

  • Powerful leading skills and business orientation.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proven Management skills especially with an ageing team.
  • Fluency in English or another language, written and verbal communication.
