The Canteen cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious, cost-effective meals for factory employees, ensuring food safety standards are met and maintaining a clean kitchen environment.
- Plan, prepare, and cook daily meals for cannery employees
- Ensure meals are served on time during scheduled breaks.
- Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation.
- Follow strict hygiene protocols in food handling, preparation, and storage.
- Develop weekly menus in coordination with management.
- To assist the Canteen Supervisor in the implementation and monitoring of the canteen food safety plan
- Ensure that cleaning and sanitation protocols are adhered to in kitchen and storage areas
- Manage own and other canteen personnel work time to ensure customer service is maintained
- Inventory Management. Monitor stock levels, request supplies, and minimize food wastage.
- Ensure that canteens are run in conformity with Canteen Food Safety Plans
- Compliance with Health and Safety Legislations
