We are looking for a skilled Cook to work in a company canteen to prepare delicious meals according to menu. You will cook dishes that will delight our staff with their taste and timely delivery.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
  • Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients
  • Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods
  • Present, garnish and arrange final dishes
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes
  • Handle and store ingredients and food
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
  • Cook foodstuffs as per menus set by Management
  • Wash utensils, and other cooking equipment.
  • Inspect facilities, equipment or supplies to ensure conformance to standards
  • Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.        
  • Take inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Plan Menus options
  • Assist in serving customers as and when required
  • Occasionally serve food and conduct cashier duties
  • Prepare meal for OT

Experience & Knowledge

  • Proven of 5 years plus experience as cook for more than a 100 person
  • Experience of cooking a variety of food (Chinese, Indian, Cuisine Mauricienne)
  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Calm demeanor to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina
  • Ability to stand in one place for hours at a time, handle heat and work odd as and when required
  • To possess valid food handlers certificate
