As a CM you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of a contract from the start phase through negotiation, execution, and eventual closeout. You will also be involved in balancing risk management as regards to building projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contractual: Draft contractual letters, notifications and related correspondence.
    • Project Oversight: Supervising construction activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets. 
  • Resource Management: Manage labour resources based on site requirements.
  • Subcon Management: Manage nominated and direct subcontractors to ensure that they meet required deadlines and quality standards.
  • Procurement: Assist the procurement department to optimise procurement strategy, review quotations, negotiate with contractors / subcontractors, and ensure timely and compliant procurement.
  • Commercial: Build strong client relationships, assist in post-tender negotiations, and manage commercial risks while optimising cost and value.
  • Financial & Cost Control: Provide information to the construction surveyor to measure works, prepare valuations, cost reports, and cash flow forecasts. 
  • Tender: Assist the Operations Manager and Senior Construction Surveyor at pre-construction stage (Drafting of Programme of Work, Method statement,..).

 Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering or Bsc (Hons) or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
  • Skills: Excellent knowledge of Conditions of Contract (Inclusive but not limited to FIDIC), Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, Strong leadership, Strategic thinking, Cost control, negotiation, planning and problem-solving abilities.  
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years in the construction industry in a management position
