Automotive Technician

Automotive Technician in West Mauritius: Maintain and repair vintage cars, perform diagnostics, servicing, and basic auto care. Requires 3–5 yrs experience, valid licence, passion for classics, English/Creole fluency, physical fitness, and strong crisis management

Our client, located in the west of Mauritius, is on the lookout for an Automotive Technincian

Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, general mechanic work, and repairs on the museum’s collection.
• Explain automotive repairs and issues and report back to the Manager.
• Plan repair procedures using charts manuals and experience.
• Test the functionality of parts and systems.
• Identify problems.
• Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tyre rotation.
• Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, and other parts.
• Willingness to learn with hands-on training.
• Help keep the workshop clean and organized.
• Keep honest, sober habits and a professional appearance.

Requirements:

• A willingness to learn.
• Good classic automotive repair knowledge is required.
• Must be passionate about vintage and classic cars.
• Hold a valid driver's licence.
• 3 to 5 years of automotive repair experience.
• Speak English and Creole
• Must read, interpret, and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records.
• Perform routine maintenance and other tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be in good health as this is a physical job that may require heavy lifting.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as a lube technician or prepared to do on-the-job training.
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Follow all health and safety standards.
