Our client, located in the west of Mauritius, is on the lookout for an Automotive Technincian
Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, general mechanic work, and repairs on the museum’s collection.
- Explain automotive repairs and issues and report back to the Manager.
- Plan repair procedures using charts manuals and experience.
- Test the functionality of parts and systems.
- Identify problems.
- Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tyre rotation.
- Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, and other parts.
- Willingness to learn with hands-on training.
- Help keep the workshop clean and organized.
- Keep honest, sober habits and a professional appearance.
Requirements:
- A willingness to learn.
- Good classic automotive repair knowledge is required.
- Must be passionate about vintage and classic cars.
- Hold a valid driver's licence.
- 3 to 5 years of automotive repair experience.
- Speak English and Creole
- Must read, interpret, and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records.
- Perform routine maintenance and other tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be in good health as this is a physical job that may require heavy lifting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience as a lube technician or prepared to do on-the-job training.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Follow all health and safety standards.
