In this role, you’ll be responsible for processing customer orders and quotations in our VWR SAP system, ensuring everything runs smoothly and within agreed service levels.

 

What is the role about?

Are you someone who enjoys solving problems and helping others? In this intermediate-level role, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers seeking technical product support. You’ll handle inquiries, troubleshoot basic product-related issues, and guide customers toward effective solutions.

Using your investigative skills, you’ll gather information to understand the nature of each issue and log incidents in our tracking system to support future improvements. You’ll refer to helpful resources like transcripts, training guides, and established processes to recommend solutions. For more complex cases, you’ll escalate to senior technical support specialists or management, ensuring every customer gets the help they need.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Communicates daily with external customers, manufacturing sites, sales representatives, marketing and other key internal customers and suppliers.
  • Serves as the primary contact for any service-related inquiry.
  • Understands business goals and customer segmentation.
  • Keeps all functions informed of customer needs.
  • Fields incoming customer phone calls and inquiries.
  • Visits customer sites as needed on occasion.
  • Drives revenue for 2 to 4 assigned territories in partnership with outside sales through expediting urgent orders and sales lead generation.
  • Coordinates customer order requirements, expedites orders as appropriate, addresses inquiries regarding products and services including pricing, product availability, returned goods, complaints, order cancellations, etc.
  • Proactively manages lot reserves.
  • Determines when customer issues need to be escalated and follows through on resolving issues.
  • Participates on and/or leads cross-functional teams to drive departmental improvements.
  • Manages consignment warehouse functions including system receipt, inventory reconciliation and billing.
  • Provides training for new employees.
  • Works with a variety of business systems including SAP.
  • Understands and can easily reference over 10,000 product listings and over 5,000 active customers in a variety of business areas.
  • Actively participates in department team activities and contributes to developing and achieving team goals (lot reserves, return goods, call abandoned rate, and other team goals).
  • Performs other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

Skillset. Knowledge, abilities and Qualifications:

  • A degree holder
  • Fluency in Swedish is important for this role, as it will support effective communication with clients and partners in Swedish-speaking regions.
  • Ability to work pro-actively, accurately, individually and also as a team member.
  • A good team player to ensure the team achieves it goals and objectives.
  • Experience in ERP application (SAP etc), Lotus Notes and MS Office (Word and Excel) are a plus
  • Ability to coordinate actions across various functions and drive results.
