LUX* Resorts & Hotels is hiring for the position of Assistant Sommelier for LUX* Grand Gaube.
The Assistant Sommelier will be responsible to:
1) Deliver and demonstrate the best wine knowledge experience to Guests.
2) Upsell all wine items available on the menu by making suggestions with suggestive selling techniques.
3) Maximise upselling opportunities of all wine items available on the beverage card with the Guests.
4) Ensure that the Guests are provided with an amazing wine experience.
5) Keep up to date with wine trends and to share knowledge of wine with Guests in a professional manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
1) At least School Certificate or equivalent qualifications.
2) At least a National Certificate Level 4 in Restaurant and Bar Service or equivalent qualifications.
3) Advanced Certificate in wines and spirits would be a definite advantage.
EXPERIENCES
1) A minimum of 2 years of working experience in Food & Beverage operations preferably in the hospitality industry.

6) Extensive knowledge of wine.
7) Good understanding of how wine and spirits industry works.

9) Willingness to work during odd hours, weekends as well as on Public Holidays.
10) Valid Food Handlers’ Certificate.
11) A clean certificate of character is a must.
