The Assistant Relationship Manager will act as primary point of contact or trusted advisor and acquiring, deepening and maintaining profitable relationship and facilitating client relationships with the objective of growing the business and the bank’s revenue.
Main responsibilities
- Grow and retain a portfolio of corporate relationships and achieve business growth objectives
- Manage a portfolio of International Banking clients with a view of developing mutually beneficial business opportunities
- Structure and promote customized range of financial solutions which best respond to client needs
- Control the quality of the portfolio using available triggers and adherence to Risk Management guidelines and policies
- Ensure a quality service for all customers by owning customer engagement and ensure all interactions are of high quality and conducted to the highest professional standards
- Ensure early identification of problem relationships and act where there are potential and existing problem accounts to protect the bank’s interests.
- Provide active feedback to seniors on process, operations, risks and make recommendation as to how these can be changed to secure the customer and the bank
- Exercise effective portfolio stewardship and control, ensuring adherence to all relevant Risk policies, Audit and Compliance standards.
- Protect sensitive customer and bank information by ensuring documents, computers, files, and all confidential matters are appropriately handled as set forth by policy.
- Ensure timely return of Bank of Mauritius reporting
- Perform any other related duties, as may be assigned.
Technical and Soft Competencies/Skills, Knowledge

- Understands and interprets financial and cash flow statements to assess and analyze financial conditions of companies and industry trends
- Coordination with various internal stakeholders to support client’s transaction too facilitate business growth
- Strong knowledge of banking products & services including various financing solutions, transactional banking offerings, global markets and treasury management solutions
- Good understanding of the various financing structures, structured solutions;
- Good level of business acumen and commercial awareness, including economic, cultural, procedural and regulatory issues
- Strong Planning, Negotiation and Communication skills

Experience & Qualifications
- A post graduate degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics/Law or any related field or a professional qualification
- A Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Business Management or equivalent as an advantage;
