Assistant Maintenance Manager

Maintain the system and technical aspects of the hotel in good running condition by curative and preventive planned maintenance.

• Coordinate day-to-day engineering requirements, plan and assign work and establish performance and development goals for colleagues
• Establish procedures and monitor all routine preventative maintenance and curative maintenance                
• Supervise all types of repair and maintenance work in the Hotel premises.
• Prioritize work in line with guest requests and management
• Ensure efficient use of resources including spares & store issues
• Ensure the status of repairs and pending costs are documented and indicate when it would be reasonable to consider replacement
• Participate in instructing colleagues on the proper operation, safety procedures and cleaning of all equipments
• Conduct team meeting regarding proper operating and maintenance practices of equipment
• Establish and maintain proper parts inventory levels
• Implement and carry out maintenance program in accordance with established timeframes
• Document regular inspections of plant and equipment
• Ensure that appropriate files are maintained and resources are kept for future reference
• Verify daily reports outlining work undertaken for the day
• Assist superior in preparing annual budget and controlling expenditure accordingly
• Explore and incorporate environmentally friendly initiatives
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
• Communicate with all hotel department heads to stay informed of maintenance needs and ensure timely responses to requests.
•  Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.
• Perform other duties and assignments as directed by Management.
