DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not be limited to the following areas and activities. At management discretion, direction may be given for task out side the scope of work described.
- Process supplier invoices and prepare payment schedules
- Issue invoices for management companies and follow up on collection
- Assist in recording daily transactions on the accounting software
- Review of expense distribution from accounts payable module
- Update bank statement files
- Update cash book and perform bank reconciliation
- Prepare cash flow forecast for projected payments
- Analysis of overseas office expenses
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in financial records promptly
- Help prepare documentation for VAT, income tax, and other statutory filings
- Prepare monthly returns to authorities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Prepare monthly management accounts for other management companies within the group
- Maintain monthly balance sheet and P&L schedules post closure of accounts
- Reconcile intercompany transactions
- Assist in preparing departmental budgets and forecasts
- Maintain up-to-date digital and physical financial records
- Support accounting managers with reconciliations, reports and analysis
- Preparation of audit file and assist external auditors
- Make sure that all material and equipment made available to the accounts department is correctly used.
- Must be familiar with accounting procedures
- Apply and ensure application of standards and procedures set by the Company
WORK SCHEDULE
Normally 8 hours (excluding 1 hour for lunch and tea breaks) and to work after office hours when required
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum `A` Level qualification with ACCA Level 2 or equivalent
- Knowledge of excel, word and conversant with hotel accounting software
- Have a good team spirit and ability to work under pressure
- Solid communication skills, with proficiency in speaking and writing in both English and French
- Strong people skills – a polite and professional demeanor when working with other companies, as well as agents, suppliers and co-workers
- Previous experience in the hospitality sector would be an advantage
