Grewals (Mauritius) Limited is looking for an Accounts Officer with the purpose of providing a comprehensive accounting and administrative support to its Finance department.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains financial and statistical records and files up-to-date including general and subsidiary ledgers and journals.
- Processes related financial data including posting debits and credits; recording weekly receipts and balances with computer printout; examining and recording financial transactions; allocating charges to proper departmental/company accounts.
- Prepares, examines, and analyses accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Prepares requisitions and general vouchers.
- Compiles financial statements and prepares periodic reports.
- Interfaces with other departments so as to obtain information to verify and/or support financial records and to answer to queries.
Profile of successful applicants:
- Higher School Certificate and partly ACCA qualified.
- 2-3 years practical experience in a Finance or Accounting sector.
- Computer literate with ability to learn new software applications.
- Dynamic, hard working, pro-active and pleasant personality
- Ability to work under pressure and to effectively handle multiple priorities, organise workload and meet deadlines.
- Able to work both independently as well as a member of a team.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
