Our client is seeking to recruit an Accounts Officer to support the Finance and Operations Department by ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant execution of all accounting, statutory, and administrative processes.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy of all financial transaction records.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and ensuring proper classification of expenses and revenues.
  • Prepare and post flawless journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Ensure accuracy of fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
  • Customer invoices and credit notes.
  • Receivables.
  • Follow ups on outstanding payments.
  • Maintaining ageing schedules.
  • Reconciliation of customer accounts and resolving billing issues.
  • Daily bank reconciliations and cash flow movements.
  • Petty cash documentation and reconciliations.
  • Retention amounts related to customer claims
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy on subcontractors’ payments, documentations, and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Ability to prepare and submit VAT, TDS, and other statutory returns within deadlines.
  • Ensuring financial reports comply with relevant laws, regulations and accounting principles, as well bodies such as MRA, FSC, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Monthly and annual financial reporting.
  • Zero non-compliance with accounting standards & zero missing records/documents during audits.
  • Support management with accurate data extraction, analysis, project costings and reconciliations.
  • Maintaining an excellent digital & physical filing system, including supplier files and contracts.
  • Support procurement documentation from purchasing department.
Profile:

  • HSC / ACCA Level 1.
  • At least 1 to 2 years experience in a similar position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Communication and teamwork.
  • Intellectual honesty, Integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn, take initiatives, and collaboration with the team during peak periods or operational challenges.

Technical competencies:
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of internal controls and audit requirements.
  • Ability to work with ERP systems and digital workflows.
