The Accounts Officer has the main responsibility to maintain Accounts Standards as defined by the Company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not be limited to the following areas and activities. At management discretion, direction may be given for task out side the scope of work described.
- Process supplier invoices on accounting software
- Reconcile accounts payable with supplier statements
- Preparation of payment to suppliers
- Despatch payment to suppliers and bank
- Liaise with suppliers and other departments with queries on payments
- Maintain petty cash
- Update cash book on accounting software
- Ensure all transactions are properly recorded and classified
- Update bank statement files
- Reconcile bank statements with cash book
- Reconcile intercompany transactions
- Assist in preparation of monthly returns to the authorities
- Maintain up-to-date digital and physical financial records
- Assist in preparation of audit file and assist external auditors
- Make sure that all material and equipment made available to the accounts department is correctly used.
- Must be familiar with accounting procedures
- Apply and ensure application of standards and procedures set by the Company
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum ‘A’ Level qualification
- Knowledge of excel, word and conversant with hotel accounting software
- Have a good team spirit and ability to work under pressure
- Solid communication skills, with proficiency in speaking and writing in both English and French
- Strong people skills – a polite and professional demeanor when working with other companies, as well as agents, suppliers and co-workers
- Previous experience in the hospitality sector would be an advantage
WORK SCHEDULE
Normally 8 hours (excluding 1 hour for lunch and tea breaks) and to work after office hours when required.
