Maintain the integrity of our financial systems, overseeing daily accounting operations, and supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes, primary point of contact for supplier coordination and financial communication with our teams in Angola.

 

We are an international business with strong operational ties to Angola, currently expanding our finance team at our Grand Baie head office. We are seeking a committed and detail-oriented Accountant who is partially ACCA qualified and fluent in both English and Portuguese. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining effective relationships with our Angolan partners and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and finalize monthly and annual financial statements
  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and postings
  • Liaise regularly with suppliers and internal teams in Angola to ensure accurate invoicing and payment follow-up
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and financial reporting
  • Maintain and manage accounting records using Odoo and Primavera
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing relevant documentation
  • Generate financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making

What We’re Looking For:

  • Partially ACCA qualified (minimum: intermediate level)
  • 3 to 4 years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Fluency in both English and Portuguese (written and spoken) is essential
  • Solid working knowledge of Odoo accounting software (experience with Primavera is an advantage)
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, reporting standards, and compliance
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in a dynamic, multicultural environment
