Accountant (2419-ACC)

Our client in the agricultural sector with subsidiaries in South Africa, Kenya and Zambia is currently seeking to recruit an Accountant.

Responsibilities:

• Support accurate and compliant General Ledger monthly and Financial Statements and consolidation which includes bookkeeping, cash books, AR/AP ledger, inventories ledger, journals.
• Support mandatory filling and declaration (VAT returns, PAYE and social contributions, Income tax)
• Support Cost controlling (actual vs budget, actual vs last year, special projects costing)
• Support accountability on the budget process.
• Support development projects (new countries, new investments).
• Support Company Secretary and contracts management.
• Any other activities supporting the delivery and growth of the business.

Profiles:

• Partly Qualified or Bsc in Accounting and Finance.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in accounting, auditing, and taxation.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Demonstrate clear understanding of Tax and VAT issues and procedures.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping terminology and practices
• Ability to work in tight deadlines.
• Proactive.
