The Area Leader is responsible of overseeing the day-to-day operations with the support of the Site Leaders for the smooth running of the sites to maintain client satisfaction and develop and implement field strategies.

 

Principal Accountabilities

  • Ensure compliance with governance rules such as SOX, Health & Safety and Brinks policies
  • Act as the main interface between Brinks and its clients about all security services provided by the company.
  • Support the strategic objective of the department, aligned to the QPIs
  • As a Facilitator, to coordinate and monitor clients’ (internal/external) requests and demands to ensure smooth operations, moreover to follow up, until completion, on all necessary documents and information required by the different business units.
  • Ensure that contractual requirements on sites are respected
  • Provide expert risk management advices to clients including risk assessment, security solutions and recommendations.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with clients, same to be documented and communicated through minutes of meeting with a proper follow up of action plans
  • Conduct site visits and night checks to ensure the good running of the operations of the teams on site
  • Organize conduct monthly meetings with site leaders to ensure that communication from the management, including the objectives and recommendations are being cascaded to the field for implementation.

Detect talent within the team to support the company’s strategy and ensure continuity and succession

Ensure all sites have an updated SOP and the field team are well acquainted and operating in accordance to it

Participate actively in the recruitment activities

  • Follow-up on new recruits during their induction period to ensure adaptation to the job and site
  • Identity the training needs of the team and organise with the concerned departments accordingly
  • Master each client’s operation from a security aspect
  • Be the key contact of clients by meeting up to their demands and maintaining the level of trust.
  • Assist the client with expert advice and recommendations in their operations to minimise any security risk
  • Provide adapted security solutions offered by Brink’s taking into consideration the cost and benefit implications
  • Conduct monthly meeting with the client with the follow-up tools to provide an update and discuss for any arising matter, same to be communicated in the minutes of meeting.
  • Conduct frequent risk assessment, report remedial actions to the client with follow-up until completion
  • Ensure that all sites have an SOP agreed and approved by the client and the management of Brink’s.
  • Follow-up on client requests and complaints in line with the quality department of Brink’s (DLP CAPA)
  •  Assess the performance of the team for preventive and corrective actions
  • Ensure that the planning of the team is prepared and communicated to them on a monthly basis
  • Ensure that the working conditions and environment of the team are in accordance to the health & safety procedures and recommendations
  • Conduct briefing and training to the teams to ensure constant refresher on their duties and responsibilities
  • Maintain a high level of discipline (grooming, attitude, behavior and maintaining procedures) within the respective teams
  • Conduct regular coaching with site leaders to ensure optimal quality service. The one-to-one sessions shall identify the strengths and areas of improvement along with the development tactics. This will allow to monitor the performance of the site leaders.
  • Conduct a training need analysis of the team and organise accordingly for their refresher in the respective field such as customer focus, fire safety, first aid, radio control, etc.
  • Ensure that site leaders conduct continuous refresher training with security guards in regards to their duties and the SOP
  • Ensure that the teams are compliant to the PSSA in regards to the COC, Licence & Badge
  • Take disciplinary measures in respect to the existing procedures of Brink’s (Mauritius) Ltd, where an employee has breached the code of conduct of The Brink’s Company and conduct enquiries
  • Perform surprise checks on sites to ensure the smooth running of the site operations day and night
  • Conduct audits with the guide of the facility inspection checklist to identify any gaps and implement the required actions.
  • Audit the books and registers kept on site. If not in accordance to Brink’s procedures and methods, corrective actions should be taken.
  • Ensure that an inventory of equipment on site is conducted on a regular basis
  • Conduct health & safety audit to ensure that no risk or hazards are present
  • Conduct check on the security equipment and system to ensure it is in good condition (for example, camera and alarm function, signal to monitoring, …)
  • Audit the time in, time out and overtime of teams to ensure that the attendance communicated is accurate
  • Prepare weekly or monthly KPIs in accordance to the departments’ requirements as per Brink’s Standard
  • Follow-up on the reporting of DSR and monthly report to those concerned
  • Update the MS database on a monthly basis
  • Provide risk assessment and monthly report on client
  • Provide monthly report on talent detection
  • Provide monthly report on SOP updates
  • Provide follow-up report for each new recruit after one week, one month, three months, six months and one year.
