ACCOUNTANT

Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant to manage and oversee daily accounting activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and audit preparation. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making through financial analysis.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Prepares financial forecasting, budget and risk analysis
• Conduct month-end and year-end close process
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns, balance sheet, profit/loss statement and other reports
• Develop periodic reports for Management
• Audits financial transactions and document accounting control policies and procedures
• Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
• Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Secures financial information by completing data base backups.
• Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
• Complies with MRA, State, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Performs these and other cognate duties as requested

Qualifications and Experience

• Having first degree in accounting field and ACCA/ACA fully qualified
• Qualified accountant with at least 5 years of similar working experience
• Strong technical skill with thorough understanding of IFRS
• Sound knowledge about Pastel Evolutions Software
• Well versed in Microsoft Office 365 tools
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to Detail and able to work under pressure
• Committed to quality and delivering on time
• Can lead and coach a small team.
