Profile
- Holder of a Degree in in Occupational Health & Safety or related field;
- Proven experience in a similar role (industrial/manufacturing environment is an advantage);
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Meticulous and organized approach;
- Self motivated and able to deal with priorities;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential;
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies;
- Carry out risk assessment/hazard analysis and act as Technical Secretary in management systems meetings;
- Ensure effective contractor safety management, including pre-qualification, site induction, permit-to-work compliance and monitoring of contractor activities to ensure adherence to site safety requirements;
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare reports;
- Carry out on site inspections and deal with resolving complaints and non-conformances;
- Assist in supervision of site maintenance team;
- Attend meetings with management concerning issues related to health and safety;
- Provide on the job training, refresher training to employees on health and safety;
- Assist in the internal and external audits, prepare corrective action plans and ensure corrective actions are taken thereafter;
