Job Description:
- Completing allocated work right the first time;
- Maximising efficiency by completing work within the budget time and planning schedule;
- To ensure that he is well dressed, according to his duties;
- To ensure that tools and equipment are used properly and in good conditions;
- To use Protective Personnel Equipment provided for carry out the task;
- To strip, repair, replace, fit and adjust new or repaired body panels on vehicles up to required manufacturer’s standard;
- To read and interpret drawing as per manufacturer’s specification and to compare actual vehicle measurement against specification;
- To use frame aligner and measurement tool to correct any body/chassis misalignment;
- To estimate materials required for the job;
- To ensure the proper use of welding equipment such as MIG, Spot welder, CO¬2 welder;
- To apply putty on repaired areas and sand accordingly to provide a smooth surface;
- To ensure timely and accurate communication with panel beater foremen, workshop controller, quality controller and head of department for additional repairs that may be required;
- To ensure all customers’ requests have been attended as specified on the job cards;
- To participate in identification of training needs and development programs;
- To ensure that their working area at all times;
- To ensure the use of seat covers, steering covers and floor mats within the vehicle;
- If needed, 48hrs before you will be informed, to perform overtime;
- Any other relevant duties that may be assigned to him.
Other Desirable Competencies:
- Knowledge of Automobile Body Parts and Painting process;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Good understanding of Estimate of Repairs, and Motor Surveyor submission;
- Safety and Health consciousness
- Punctual and Regular in Attendance
- Valid driving license.
