The Cement Operations Manager determines, with the Executive Committee of LafargeHolcim (Mauritius), the short and long term business strategy and sets the roadmap towards the achievement of defined goals. He/She challenges and drives the supply chain of cement from importation to delivery in bags and in bulk to customers and ensures a continuous and timely provision to the Mauritian market, this, while ensuring the full optimization of our industrial asset and keeping a safe and pleasant working environment for team members.


Your Role

 

  • Confident on the priority H&S has in work processes, you will ensure that safe work conditions are created and maintained at the Terminal. In that respect, you will drive the implementation and monitoring of the Group’s Health & Safety standards and procedures throughout all interventions and ensure that the teams operate safely at all times.
  • Good leader, you will drive a team of operating staff and will be responsible of the adequate organization of tasks and processes at the Terminal. 
  • You will ensure that the industrial performance is properly monitored, with the definition of appropriate targets and indicators. You will also ensure that the certification and operating authorizations for the facility are obtained and renewed in due course.
  • You will be in charge of logistics planning and supply chain management and ensure a proper monitoring of the vessel and delivery schedules. As a result, you will also be responsible of the vessel unloading process and ensure the proper coordination with stakeholders.
  • Organized and long-term driven, you will define, plan and engage in regular production and preventive maintenance programmes and ensure the reliability of all equipment pertaining to the industrial facility. In that respect, you will define spare parts specifications and secure adequate stock levels.
  • You will be in charge of the seeking and administering of all third party contracts pertaining to the industrial aspects and operations of the Terminal. As a result, you will engage, when required, in reshufflings and ensure the optimization of outsourced services in all interventions.
  • Committed to service excellence, you will instill and nourish a customer-oriented culture at all times and drive the team towards continuous improvement through effective standards of procedures and a dedicated approach.
  • Sustainable stakeholder relations being key to effective business, you will be expected to build and maintain a strong relationship with parties involved or concerned by the nature of the Terminal’s operations.

 

 

Your Profile

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in operating an industrial facility, preferably within the construction sector.
  • Holder of a Master’s degree in Engineering or Operations Management from a recognized institution.
  • Leader and team-oriented, with solid experience in the management of direct and indirect teams.
  • Excellent communication [internal & external], negotiation and business skills.
  • Results-oriented, with a strong commitment to service excellence
