Our client, in the financial and investment sector, is looking for a Business Financial Analyst.

Reporting to the Group Chief Financial officer, the successful candidate will be responsible to maximise return on invested funds by identifying investment opportunities; maintaining relationships with the investment community.

Main responsibilities:

(i) To develop monitoring and reporting tools and templates that will allow for the Investment Company to monitor the financial performance of its investment portfolio.

(ii) Internal:

      To work closely with the management team of the Company, its subsidiaries and affiliates.

Key Accountabilities

• To carry out high quality investment and project appraisals for existing and future businesses; both in terms of current performance and future performance
• To carry out in-depth market research for selected countries and opportunities and develop a profile of each of these countries;
• To carry out in-depth benchmarking exercises for selected industries with appropriate KPIs, KRIs and best in class practices and procedures
• To assist in project development from conceptualisation to implementation including the feasibility study and presentation
• To assist in business development for selected businesses
• To produce and critically analyze financial models;
• To define assumptions for the quantification and analysis of investment, acquisitions and/or divestitures;
• To work with the CFO and to assist in the formulation of strategy and a road-map for funds raising for the Group;
• To demonstrate strong disciplines in terms of documentation, record retentions and policies and procedures.
• To work in collaboration with senior management and management team of subsidiaries and affiliates.

Qualification:

• University Degree – Preferably in Finance, Accountancy or Economics or any other equivalent.  Professional degree such as ACA, ACCA or MBA is desirable but not required. Good appreciation of CFA qualification and ideally someone who has started his CFA qualification.
• Minimum 8 -10 years of proven experience in the field such as a Banking or Financial Institution, Corporate Finance or Big 4 firms
