Role Overview
The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial management and accounting operations of the Company, a regulated CFD brokerage operating in Mauritius.
The role includes responsibility for financial reporting, invoice management, client money monitoring, bank reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with applicable financial regulations and company policies.
The Finance Manager will ensure that the Company maintains strong financial controls and meets its reporting and regulatory obligations to the Financial Services Commission and other relevant authorities.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Manage the Company’s day-to-day financial operations.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and financial documentation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monitor the Company’s financial performance and cash flow.
Client Money Oversight
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of client money accounts.
- Ensure proper segregation of client funds in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform regular reconciliations between:
- client trading platform balances
- payment provider records
- bank balances.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Bank Reconciliations
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile operational and client money accounts.
- Monitor payment flows including deposits, withdrawals, and internal transfers.
Invoice Management
- Prepare and issue invoices for company services where applicable.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Review and approve supplier invoices.
- Ensure timely payments to vendors and service providers.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare financial reports for senior management and the Board.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and regulatory filings.
- Coordinate with external auditors and accountants.
Compliance and Regulatory Support
- Ensure financial operations comply with applicable regulations for financial services firms in Mauritius.
- Support regulatory reporting requirements to the Financial Services Commission.
- Maintain proper records for compliance reviews and audits.
Internal Controls
- Implement and maintain strong internal financial controls.
- Monitor financial risks and operational exposures.
- Assist in the development of financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in finance or accounting.
- Experience in financial services, fintech, or brokerage environments is preferred.
- Experience managing bank reconciliations and client money processes is highly desirable.
