We are seeking a Logistics Associate to support Freeport operations by coordinating import and re-export activities, managing warehouse space, supervising goods handling, and maintaining logistics records. The role also involves liaising with customs and transport authorities.

 

Reports To: Senior Logistics Associate

Supervises: Supporting staff of the Operations Department

 

Salary Scale

MUR 25,860 x 550 – 26,410 x 680 – 27,770 x 850 – 37,970 x 1,020 – 43,070 x 1,440 – 44,510, plus salary compensation at approved rates.

 

Minimum Qualification and Experience Requirements

Qualifications

  • GCE qualification with a pass in Mathematics.

Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in a relevant field.

  • Experience in warehousing and logistics services.

  • Experience in export, shipping, clearing and forwarding, or cargo operations.

 

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.

  • Strong organisation and time management skills.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Fluency in English and French.

  • Computer literacy.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Logistics Associate will be responsible for the following:

  1. Control import and re-export traffic within the Freeport zone.

  2. Assign warehousing space to Freeport operators.

  3. Liaise with Customs Authorities operating in the Freeport.

  4. Coordinate with seaport and airport authorities and terminal operators’ traffic departments.

  5. Control, check, count, and supervise the receipt and delivery of goods or vehicles belonging to clients into and out of warehouses, car yards, and premises.

  6. Input data into Online Tracking Systems and collect data for the preparation of logistics services occupancy reports.

  7. Maintain manual and/or electronic records of all operational transactions.

  8. Ensure compliance with operational procedures.

  9. Ensure cleanliness and proper organisation of the Freeport zone.

  10. Ensure that client operations (receipt and delivery of goods) are conducted safely.

  11. Collect outstanding debts from clients when required.

  12. Perform any other duties directly related to the role or required to ensure effective delivery of outputs and results expected from the incumbent.
