We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team in the next academic year, starting in August 2026.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teaching English as a Second Language to students from Year 7 to Year 11
- Plan and deliver lessons with clear objectives and assessments.
- Set challenging tasks to maintain interest and build on prior attainment.
- Cater to individual student needs and maintain lesson structure, pace and motivation.
- Use diverse teaching methods, including questioning, resource selection and study skill development.
- Ensure effective use of time, assessments and school policies on discipline, behaviour and homework.
- Contribute to curriculum development with clear targets and success criteria.
- Act as class tutor, supporting the progress and well-being of students.
- Register attendance, encourage participation and address individual student concerns.
- Prepare reports and action plans and communicate with staff about student needs.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A Bachelor’s degree in English, along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), or a Bachelor of Education (BEd) in English
- Minimum of 2–5 years of teaching English experience in the secondary section.
- Experience in using ICT to enhance teaching and learning.
- Ability to set clear expectations and stretch goals.
- A depth of understanding in the relevant subject area.
- Ability to judge learning effectiveness.
- Enthusiasm, creativity, and a growth mindset.
- Genuine care and attention for the highest standards of student welfare.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in IGCSE, A Level and IBDP Programmes
- Previous experience in an international school setting
