Responsible for managing the entire employee lifecycle and HR operations at Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa, ensuring effective recruitment, development, engagement, and compliance in line with the resort’s policies and values.
As the Assistant Human Resouces Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all HR operations while serving as a strategic partner between employees and management. Your key responsibilities include:
HR Operations & Administration
Oversee the complete employee lifecycle, from recruitment to exit.
Ensure accurate and timely updates in Payroll and HR systems.
Handle all HR-related inquiries professionally and promptly.
Maintain HR records, contracts, letters, and personnel files.
Master all HR systems including Sicorax, and AGV, and train staff on their usage.
Recruitment & Onboarding
Manage local and international recruitment, considering budget and forecasts.
Develop job descriptions, shortlist, interview, and select candidates.
Prepare personal files and perform onboarding/orientation for all new employees.
Ensure expat recruitment and immigration processes are correctly followed.
Coordinate work and residence permits, visa renewals, medicals, and employment termination with local authorities.
Participate in job fairs, career events, and manage all recruitment platforms.
Employee Relations & Development
Handle disciplinary, grievance, and employee relation issues with confidentiality.
Plan and coordinate internal and external training sessions, updating individual training records.
Conduct probation reviews and issue corresponding letters.
Advise management on legal matters and serve as a trusted business partner.
Conduct regular salary surveys and benchmark compensation packages.
HR Policies & Compliance
Develop and maintain policies on performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures, and time & attendance management.
Ensure compliance with all HR legislation and stay updated on changes from local authorities.
Uphold Health & Safety policies and ensure a safe working environment.
Ensure grooming and professional standards are maintained; provide training where needed.
Strategic Leadership & Innovation
Build and lead a high-performing HR team through coaching and mentoring.
Identify and implement innovative HR solutions to improve processes and efficiency.
Make strategic recommendations to management to optimize resources and productivity.
Act as a change agent, embracing and driving organizational change.
Degree in Human Resources or equivalent.
1–2 years’ experience in a similar position, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Proficient in Sicorax Payroll, HRM systems, and AG Vipertex.
Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and practices.
Ethical, discreet, and able to handle confidential matters professionally.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
Approachable, empathetic, and able to handle challenging situations with emotional intelligence.
Tech-savvy, forward-thinking, and able to propose creative HR solutions.
Strong communication skills (written and spoken) in English and French.
Ability to train, coach, lead, and guide subordinates effectively.
