Merchandiser – Origin’Est Distribution (Alteo Group)

Origin’Est is Alteo’s 100% Mauritian brand showcasing the terroir of the East and a more sustainable approach to agriculture. The brand brings together responsibly produced food products, including greenhouse-grown vegetables and premium deer meat, with a strong focus on quality and trust.

We are looking for a field-based Merchandiser to ensure that Origin’Est products are present, visible and well-maintained in every assigned shop. You will be the face of the brand in-store—making sure products are correctly placed, well-stocked, and meet freshness and quality standards.

Main Duties

• Visit assigned outlets daily/weekly based on the route plan and ensure full compliance with Origin’Est execution standards.
• Ensure products are available, correctly positioned and displayed (shelf planograms, facings, and promotional displays).
• Monitor stock levels on shelves and in the backstore; coordinate replenishment and avoid out-of-stocks.
• Check freshness/quality, expiry dates and product rotation (FIFO/FEFO as applicable); remove or report non-conforming stock.
• Ensure correct pricing and in-store visibility through labels and promotional materials.
• Maintain excellent customer relationships with store managers and staff and resolve day-to-day issues quickly.
• Provide accurate visit reports and share competitor/store observations with the team.

Profile

• Holder of a School Certificate.
• Previous merchandising experience will be an advantage (especially in FMCG and/or fresh food).
• Valid motorcycle licence (field mobility is essential).
• Organised, proactive and detail-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently in the field and deliver consistent, high-quality execution.
