Role Overview

Purpose Of Job

The Assistant Manager in the Shared Services Team will play a critical role in reviewing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and managing key bookkeeping tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills and maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and service delivery to clients.


Main Responsibilities and Duties

  • Review and prepare complex financial statements and management reports in accordance with IFRS and client requirements.
  • Oversee general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end closings.
  • Liaise with auditors to facilitate timely completion of audits and resolution of audit queries.
  • Support tax compliance processes including coordination with advisors and clients.
  • Allocate workloads, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of all deliverables.
  • Review work prepared by accountants, providing feedback to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls and process improvements.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and propose solutions to improve accuracy and productivity.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients and internal teams to ensure expectations are met.
  • Provide guidance, training, and coaching to accountants and junior team members.

Essential Requirements

  • ACCA fully or partly qualified (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 12 years of accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or review role.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
