Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payment Analyst to join our Mauritius operations team. The role is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely processing of client deposits and withdrawals, working closely with payment service providers (PSPs), banks, and internal teams to ensure smooth payment operations within a regulated CFD brokerage environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring payment flows are correctly processed, reconciled, and resolved in line with internal controls, regulatory expectations, and client service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Payment Processing & Operations
- Monitor and process client deposits and withdrawals across multiple payment methods (cards, bank transfers, e-wallets, etc.)
- Ensure all payment transactions are processed accurately, promptly, and in accordance with internal procedures
- Investigate and resolve failed, delayed, or disputed transactions
- Liaise with clients to resolve payment-related queries in a professional and timely manner
Reconciliation & Controls
- Perform daily and periodic reconciliations between internal systems, PSP reports, and bank statements
- Identify, investigate, and resolve payment breaks or discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records of payment activity for audit and regulatory review
- Support month-end and periodic reporting related to client funds and payment flows
External & Internal Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key point of contact with payment service providers (PSPs) and banking partners
- Coordinate with internal teams such as Finance, Compliance, Customer Support, and Risk
- Escalate operational or compliance-related payment issues where required
- Assist with the onboarding, testing, and ongoing monitoring of new payment providers
Compliance & Risk Awareness
- Ensure payment activities are carried out in line with AML/CFT requirements and internal controls
- Support transaction monitoring, payment-related reviews, and ad-hoc compliance requests
- Adhere to segregation of client funds and regulatory expectations applicable to CFD brokers
Required Skills & Experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field
- Experience in payment operations, payments analysis, finance operations, or reconciliation
- Good understanding of online payment processing, including card payments, bank transfers, and PSP workflows
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to reconcile large transaction volumes accurately
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Comfortable working with internal systems, payment dashboards, and spreadsheets
Desirable (Nice to Have)
- Experience working for a CFD broker, forex broker, fintech, or regulated financial institution
- Familiarity with Mauritius FSC regulatory expectations
- Knowledge of client money handling and reconciliation processes
- Experience working directly with PSPs and acquiring banks
- Understanding of payment-related fraud or chargeback processes
