The Catering Equipment Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of airline catering equipment, including warewash operations, inventory control, and equipment availability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Equipment & Warewash Operations
- Oversee the warewash scope, including cleaning, sanitizing, stripping, and deep cleaning of all airline catering equipment in accordance with airline and food safety standards.
- Manage the cleaning, stripping, and maintenance of inflight trolleys, carts, and containers to ensure hygiene, serviceability, and airline compliance.
- Ensure proper segregation of clean and dirty equipment and strict adherence to hygiene zoning within warewash and equipment areas.
- Ensure all airline equipment is cleaned, inspected, and prepared for operational use in a timely manner.
- Ensure good usage of warewash equipment, daily cleaning as per manufacturer instruction.
Inventory & Equipment Control
- Manage accurate inventory of floating items, ensuring continuous tracking and visibility of equipment in circulation.
- Monitor, track, and record all airline equipment received, ensuring safe keeping, traceability, and correct storage.
- Ensure balance equipment control by tracking equipment issued and returned to prevent losses, shortages, or operational disruptions.
- Track equipment usage, identify discrepancies, damages, or shortages for replenishment or corrective actions.
- Plan and manage kitting processes, ensuring correct assembly of equipment sets in line with flight and airline requirements.
Catering Equipment preparation
- Lead bulk equipment section ensuring compliance in line with Airline’s GLP and specifications.
- Manage cutlery section preparation as per Airlines’s specifications,
- Ensure availability of airline equipment to support catering operations as per flight schedules and production plan.
Safety, Hygiene & Waste Management
- Ensure all generated waste is managed and disposed of in compliance with safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations.
- Enforce compliance with all internal SOPs, airline standards, and regulatory requirements within warewash and equipment areas.
Reporting & Control
- Prepare reports on equipment usage, losses, damages, warewash performance, and inventory accuracy.
- Support audits, inspections, and airline checks related to equipment, warewash, and hygiene compliance.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- BSc. or equivalent in relevant fields
- Relevant work experience in the hospitality or catering industry
- Knowledge of material flow planning, production planning and team management
- Working knowledge of Food safety and Hygiene Standards
