We are looking for an Account Officer to join our team in Grand Bay, that reside in the North.
The candidate will perform administrative and accounting duties, check daily float with Cashier and Shop Manager, be dynamic and self-motivated.
MAIN PURPOSE:
The job incumbent shall be responsible to:
- Perform administrative and accounting duties
- Reconciliation of bank statements, card payments, cash payments and juice.
- Assist the cashier in reconciliation if any discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Check daily float with cashier and shop manager.
- Responsible for the processing of all payables and ensure that payment is processed within timeframe.
- Process supplier invoices and prepare all local payments
- Ensure that all expenses are processed on a timely basis
- Allocate payment on supplier’s account on system
- Seek approval of payment from HOD
- Ensure that cheque books are always available and order new ones as and when required.
- Ensure timely payment of bills.
- Prepare standing orders and direct debit when required.
- Replenishment and follow up of petty cash
- Perform proper filling
- Ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerized accounting system.
- Assist queries from auditors and MRA.
- Assist on monthly stock count / inventory.
- Report incidents, non-conformance, complaints and dangerous occurrences
- Assist the accountant in developing procedures to maintain an internal control system.
- Prepare and assist management, as required in analyzing financial performance
- Being accountable and responsible for all actions and results.
- Any other cognate duties that may be assigned by the management and same within an accounting & finance environment.
