Technical Officer

The United Basalt Products Ltd is seeking to recruit a Technical Officer for its Engineering Department’s Fleet Optimisation unit based at Geoffroy Road, Bambous.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and perform testing, inspection, predictive, preventive, and breakdown maintenance of the fleet
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective maintenance planning and execution
• Carry out diagnostics and troubleshooting, and ensure operators comply with recommended maintenance practices
• Provide technical support for crushing plant operations and maintenance, as required
• Assist in fleet mobilisation, transfers between sites, and plant-related projects
• Support cost management through CAPEX planning, budgeting, procurement support, and lifecycle cost analysis to improve fleet reliability
• Collect, analyse, and manage fleet and reliability data; investigate equipment performance issues with due consideration to cost and uptime
• Prepare technical and reliability reports and ensure proper departmental documentation and filing
• Maintain regular communication with stakeholders and deliver high standards of customer service
• Supervise, coach, and collaborate with operators and technicians to ensure efficient and safe operations
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements

Candidate Profile

• Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering will be an advantage
• At least four (4) years of in a similar position
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electromechanical equipment, components, and diagnostic testing (SME level)
• Good planning, organisational, and quality assurance skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Project management skills
• Effective communication skills
• Holder of a Valid Driving License

Note: Fresh graduates in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering may also be considered.
