Retail Operations Team Leader

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulates, directs and coordinates marketing and omnichannel activities and policies to promote products and services in order to increase the brand awareness, drive in-store traffic and thus increase sales and profitability.
  • Makes sure that purchases and stocks are at an optimum level.
  • Makes sure that margins and prices of products follow Grays and International recommendations.
  • Provides leadership to the Retail team by motivating and developing a strong team that will provide exceptional customer service and exceed sales targets through regular appraisal, mentoring, training and personal development.
  • Acts in the best interest of the company by taking responsibility for decision-making and entrepreneurship when the opportunity presents itself.
  • Maintains a personal presence that reflects the role within the company and continues to develop her own professional and technical knowledge, personal and professional networks.
  • Keeps abreast of market trends and competition, and analyses business activity.
  • Is responsible for all Store Supervisors’ development on management skills, communication, staff recruitment and team coaching.
  • Leads new projects, new brands launches and new shops openings or renovations.

Marketing and Strategic Operations

  • Identifies, develops, and evaluates marketing and merchandising strategies, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and mark-up factors.
  • Develops adapted tools to implement the strategies, ensures all communication objectives are clearly and effectively linked back into the brand objectives (Digital, Direct Marketing, CRM, Media, Events and PR).

Sales & Procurement

  • Ensures that sales and profit targets set per outlet are reached and that all shops are performing to maximum potential.
  • Analyses sales and stock activities and decides on relevant action plans to optimize purchases and sales
  • Makes sure that purchases and stocks are at an optimum level.
  • Makes sure that margins and prices of products follow Grays and International recommendations.
    Merchandising & Store Excellence
  • Makes sure that the Shopping Experience in store is performed according to Brands guidelines.

Operations

  • Ensures that Shop Expenses are monitored.

Leadership and Coaching

  • Coaches Store Supervisors to achieve objectives through training, recruitment, coaching and delegation. The coaching process should be followed up through a monthly ritual in order to track the evolution of its team
  • Communicates priorities, sales goals and directions according to daily, monthly, quarterly and annual planning in order to ensure maximized store performances in all area of responsibility
  • Leads and mentors Store Supervisors enabling them to achieve consistent level of knowledge/skills and to be stronger leaders throughout the organization
  • Ensures Brand Trainings (product knowledge, operations, selling techniques) are learned, understood and role played; defines and updates every month the training needs for the area.
  • Builds and implements on boarding and integration of new staff by organizing in class training sessions and adapts/develops training documents

Education and Experience Requirements

 Degree in Business Administration or Marketing
 Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and sound presentation skills
 Proven strategy development and execution experience
 Knowledge level of digital marketing
 Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel & PowerPoint)
 Good understanding of financial tools/KPIs
 Experience in Training/ Coaching
 Cosmetics knowledge (face care, fragrance, body care, make-up, hair care…)
 Fluent in English and French

  • In collaboration with the BU Manager, defines the yearly strategic plan for the BU and assists in preparing the yearly budgets and forecasted sales and profitability.
