The Role
We are seeking for a Finance Director-Accountant with expertise in tax to join our team. The successful candidate will manage accounting operations, ensure compliance with statutory obligations and IFRS Standards, and provide expert guidance on tax matters to both the firm and our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, maintain, and reconcile financial statements, management accounts and bookkeeping.
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts and financial statements.
- Manage corporate and individual tax filings, VAT returns, and other statutory tax obligations.
- Provide expert tax advice and ensure full compliance with Mauritian tax laws and regulations.
- iaising with tax authorities, auditors, and regulators.
- Offer financial and tax insights to support businesses and strategic decisions.
- Developing and implementing accounting systems for clients to meet their requirements.
- Monitoring and controlling clients expenditure and budgets.
- Evaluating the business performance of clients.
- Assisting management in preparing investments plans and contributing tot he strategic development of the Company.
- Managing financial risks and evaluating data risks for the Company and clients.
- Use of technology to enhance the quality of services and develop new products
Qualifications & Skills:
- Duly Registered with MIPA.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA or ACA or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting and tax experience in Mauritius.
- In-depth knowledge of Mauritian tax laws, VAT, corporate tax, and compliance requirements as per IFRS Standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
