A Receiving Assistant is responsible for receiving, checking, and recording incoming goods or materials. They ensure that deliveries match purchase orders, report any discrepancies or damages, and assist in organizing and storing items properly while maintaining accurate inventory records.
DUTIES AND RESPONBILITIES | |
1 | Offloading Deliveries: − Safely offload goods from delivery trucks or lorries. − Arrange goods in designated receiving areas for inspection and verification. |
2 | Physical Verification of Goods: − Verify the quantity of stock received against the system-generated purchase order and supplier invoice. − Inspect goods for quality, checking for damages, discrepancies or expired items. |
3 | Quality & Expiry Check: − Ensure that all items meet the required quality standards. − Check expiration dates on perishable goods to ensure compliance with company policies. |
4 | Stock Handling & Storage: − Prepare and organise stock for transfer to the warehouse or sales floor after verification. − Assist in labelling and categorising received goods. |
5 | Collaboration: − Work closely with the Receiving Clerk to ensure all physical and system records match. − Report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues immediately to the Receiving Manager. |
6 | Any other task from time to time. |
