Full-time Driver based in Mauritius, providing safe, reliable and professional services for a private employer; salary negotiable.
Safely and punctually perform driving duties, including pick-ups and drop-offs as required.
Ensure daily cleanliness, basic maintenance and regular servicing of the vehicle, keeping it in optimal condition at all times.
Demonstrate good knowledge of road conditions, traffic regulations and major locations across Mauritius, including airports, ports, hotels, tourist attractions and government offices.
Assist with vehicle-related administrative matters, such as insurance, road tax renewal, servicing and repairs.
Provide courteous, professional and discreet service, maintaining a high standard of personal conduct and professional image.
Occasionally assist with accompanying tasks, such as handling luggage or accompanying shopping trips.
Legal Status & Driving Licence
Holder of a valid Mauritius driving licence (mandatory).
Note: International driving licences are generally valid for short-term use only.
Must have the legal right to work in Mauritius (work permit, permanent residence, or Mauritian residency).
The employer may sponsor a work permit for suitable candidates, subject to eligibility.
Driving Experience
Minimum 5 years of proven, safe driving experience.
Extensive experience with right-hand drive vehicles and left-hand traffic (Mauritius traffic system).
Comfortable driving under various road conditions (urban, mountainous and coastal roads).
Driving Record
Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or serious accidents.
Language Skills
Basic communication skills in English or French.
Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a strong advantage and may be required when serving Chinese companies or Chinese families.
Age & Health
Aged between 28 and 45.
Good physical condition, good eyesight, and no medical conditions affecting driving ability.
Strong sense of responsibility and safety awareness.
Excellent punctuality and time management skills.
Service-oriented mindset and strict confidentiality: polite, well-mannered, and committed to protecting the employer’s privacy, including schedules and conversations.
Previous experience working for hotels, tourism companies, expatriates or high-net-worth individuals/families.
Familiarity with the operation and basic maintenance of luxury vehicles.
Proficiency in multiple languages (e.g. English, French, Mandarin).
Already residing in Mauritius with good knowledge of local culture, lifestyle and venues.
Holder of a defensive driving certificate or other professional driving training credentials.
Salary: Monthly salary paid in Mauritian Rupees or USD, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Transportation: Use of company vehicle during working hours.
Insurance: Medical and personal accident insurance coverage.
