We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher to join our team in January 2026.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching English as a Second Language to students from Year 7 to Year 11
Plan and deliver lessons with clear objectives and assessments.
Set challenging tasks to maintain interest and build on prior attainment.
Cater to individual student needs and maintain lesson structure, pace and motivation.
Use diverse teaching methods, including questioning, resource selection and study skill development.
Ensure effective use of time, assessments and school policies on discipline, behaviour and homework.
Contribute to curriculum development with clear targets and success criteria.
Act as class tutor, supporting the progress and well-being of students.
Register attendance, encourage participation and address individual student concerns.
Prepare reports and action plans and communicate with staff about student needs.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

A Bachelor’s degree in English, along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), or a Bachelor of Education (BEd) in English or TESOL.
Minimum of 2–5 years of teaching English experience in the secondary section.
Experience in using ICT to enhance teaching and learning.
Ability to set clear expectations and stretch goals.
A depth of understanding in the relevant subject area.
Ability to judge learning effectiveness.
Enthusiasm, creativity, and a growth mindset.
Genuine care and attention for the highest standards of student welfare.
