Clinical Laboratory Assistant

The candidate is responsible for collecting and handling patient specimens, selecting the appropriate venipuncture methods, and ensuring accurate tracking, preparation, and dispatch of samples, including those sent to external laboratories.

What you will be doing:

• Collect and arrange physical specimens such as blood, swab, urine, and stool for diagnosis.
• Track collected blood samples by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection; maintain daily tallies of collections performed.
• Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and/or electronic) with accuracy and responsibility.
• Explain tests to patients and answer any questions they might have.
• Be responsible for administrative duties such as billing and handling of cash.

What are we looking for?

• HSC Holder with Science subject in preference
• HCA or a Professional Certificate in Laboratory Techniques is desired
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in similar field
• Computer literate
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
