Ekium AMIO Ltd is a growing engineering company based in Mauritius and part of the French EKIUM Group, a world leader in engineering design.
Engineering & Design
Perform structural analysis and design of steel frameworks, pipe racks, industrial buildings, equipment supports, platforms, and access structures.
Develop and validate structural models using FEM tools (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis, Tekla Structural Designer, SAP2000).
Design connections (bolted, welded, base plates) according to Eurocodes and/or AISC.
Prepare calculation notes, design reports, material take-offs, and technical specifications.
Review and optimize designs for constructability, safety, and cost efficiency while maintaining compliance with project requirements and international standards.
Perform load assessments including dead, live, wind, seismic, blast, thermal, and equipment loads.
Project Coordination
Interface with other disciplines (process, piping, mechanical, electrical, civil works) to ensure integrated design and avoid clashes.
Review and validate fabrication drawings, shop details, and erection plans.
Support procurement and technical bid evaluation for steel structures, including supplier document review.
Participate in design review meetings (3D models, HAZID, constructability reviews) and propose technical solutions.
Construction & Site Support
Provide engineering support during fabrication and erection phases: lifting studies, bolting/welding procedures, nonconformance evaluation, site modifications.
Supervise or assist with inspection of steel structures, alignment, and quality control activities.
Troubleshoot and provide solutions to structural issues encountered during installation or after load testing.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure adherence to Eurocodes (EN 1990–1999) and other applicable codes (AISC, API 650/620, ASCE, ISO, BS).
Anticipate and incorporate local building regulations in host countries (Africa & Middle East).
Review and validate deliverables for safety, robustness, and regulatory compliance.
Knowledge Sharing & Mentoring
Guide and train junior structural engineers and drafters in Eurocode application and advanced steel design practices.
Stay current on emerging standards, seismic codes and industrial plant best practices.
