R2R Analyst - ensure accurate reporting, drive process improvements, and support global finance operations efficiently.

 

Role Summary

The R2R Analyst is responsible for executing core Record-to-Report processes within the Global Business Services (GBS) organization, ensuring accurate and timely accounting, reconciliations, and reporting in line with organizational policies and accounting standards. The role supports month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, prepares journal entries, maintains general ledger integrity, and performs account reconciliations.

The R2R Analyst works closely with Finance, Tax, and Controlling teams to provide reliable financial data for decision-making, while ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. The role also contributes to continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and supporting automation and standardization initiatives across regions.

Role Responsibilities

Fixed Asset Accounting
  • Handle all fixed asset accounting transactions, including complex and critical issues.
  • Perform monthly depreciation posting and maintain asset documentation for audit purposes.
  • Prepare audit schedules related to fixed assets and reconcile the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger.
  • Coordinate with Plant and Project Teams for project capitalization and address asset accounting-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards for fixed assets.
General Ledger Accounting and Month-End Close
  • Perform month-end accruals and provisions as per timelines.
  • Manage the periodic close of general ledger, including: Maintaining the close schedule, Scheduling subsystem feeds, Making materiality decisions for closing entries and Communicating trial balance finalization to stakeholders.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in line with accounting standards.
  • Maintain general ledger data integrity and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Reconciliations and Variance Analysis
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring alignment between subsidiary ledgers and general ledger(s).
  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure all unreconciled items are cleared as per SLAs.
  • Conduct monthly intercompany reconciliations to ensure no open items pending for more than one month.
  • Execute variance analysis for balance sheet and income statement accounts, identifying and addressing discrepancies.
Compliance and Audit Support
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, SOX/internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Assist with statutory, management, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Inventory Provision and Reporting
  • Manage inventory provisions, including: Slow-moving inventory, Net Realized Value (NRV) adjustments, Leakage Damage Inventory (LED) accounting.
  • Monitor and control errors/issues in journalizing, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and drive efficiency in R2R processes.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to clear balance sheet open items and address reconciliation issues.
Process Improvements and Initiatives
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including automation and the implementation of best practices.
  • Assist team leads in implementing project initiatives to achieve organizational goals.
  • Identify and resolve gaps in R2R processes to improve accuracy and timeliness.
Team Collaboration and Support
  • Support the team by managing individual deliverables and assisting others when needed.
  • Provide backup and support for critical team functions during high workload periods.
  • Share knowledge and best practices to foster team development.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

Technical Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience, with at least 2 years of managing a team.
  • ACCA Level 2/Degree.
  • Expertise in RTR processes, including GL accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in SAP is essential.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Analytical skills for KPI management, root cause analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Prior experience with working with countries in Africa/Europe would be advantageous.
  • Fluent spoken and written French.
