Our client, an investment management company is seeking to recruit a Private Equity Analyst who will play a crucial role within the investment team.

 

Responsibilities:

Sourcing & Dealflow:
  • Identifying prospective investment opportunities.
  • Managing the deal flow pipeline and maintaining relationships with industry stakeholders.

Due diligence & Deal execution:
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and conduct the established due diligence process.
  • Preparing investment recommendation documents (memos) summarizing the investment thesis.
  • Preparing and presenting materials for Investment Committees.
  • Coordinating and participating in financial, legal, and strategic audits during the due diligence phase.

Portfolio & Fund management:
  • Ongoing monitoring of portfolio companies, including tracking key financial and operational metrics.
  • Tracking the fund's asset allocation and ensuring adherence to investment guidelines.
  • Preparing recurring fund cash flow forecasts.
  • Preparing quarterly financial statements for the fund, including Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss accounts, and capital.

Account statements:
  • Computing fund performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Preparing and monitoring fund budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

Market Research & Strategic Insights:
  • Conducting in-depth market and sector research to identify investment opportunities.
  • Stay informed about market trends and sector developments to support investment decisions.

Reporting & Presentations:
  • Drafting presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including investors (LPs).
  • Providing regular updates to the Investment Committee and senior management.
Profile:

  • Graduate from a top-tier business or engineering school, or a leading university (specialization in finance, strategy, or economics preferred).
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience in private equity, M&A, strategy consulting, or corporate finance is a strong asset.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English and French (both written and spoken).

Technical Skills:
  • Advanced financial modeling skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
