Our client in the accounting sector is seeking to recruit a dynamic Accounts Officer to join its accounting department.
Responsibilities:
- Input / Processing of Sales Invoices to Clients.
- Input / Processing of Purchase Invoices from Suppliers through Accounts payable module.
- Preparation of Bulk Payment File to be uploaded via Internet Banking.
- Preparation and/or input of cheques for local suppliers.
- Input all bank payments, standing order, bank advice and telegraphic transfer in the Accounting System.
- Bank Statement reconciliation.
- Update of cash flows.
- Processing of all Sales Invoices in the Debtors ledger and preparation of an ageing debtors list monthly.
- Preparation of Ageing Creditors List monthly.
- Implementation of Direct Debits wherever applicable.
- Preparation of VAT returns on a Monthly basis to be submitted to MRA.
- Preparation and submission of TDS (Tax Deduction at Source) return if applicable
- Preparation and input of Journal Entries.
- Reconciliation of various control accounts, i.e. Debtors Control Account, Salary Control Account, Supplier Control Account.
- Assist in the Preparation of financial statement.
- Assist in the Preparation of Auditors' Requirements as and when necessary.
- Assist in the Preparation of final accounts to be approved by the directors.
- Assist in the Preparation of Income Tax Return to be submitted to MRA.
- Working on various Clients Requirements within Accounting Department.
- Any cognate duties in the Accounting Department.
Profile:
- ACCA Level 1 or relevant degree.
- At least 2 to 4 years of experience in financial operations, payroll, and statutory filings.
- Experience in bank reconciliation, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Pastel, Navision, SageX3).
- Good command of Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
- Understanding of IFRS and local tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, TDS)
