About the Role

We are looking for a committed Shop Assistant to join our Italian food shop, where we offer a great selection of fresh and dry imported produce.

This role is more than selling food—it’s about creating a pleasant, welcoming space where customers can enjoy discovering authentic products at their own pace.

As a Shop Assistant, you will:

• Prepare and serve prosciutto, cheeses, and other specialties with care and attention

• Offer tastings so customers can experience the quality of our products

• Keep counters and shelves well presented, maintain cleanliness and order, and make sure the shop always feels inviting

You should be comfortable working with food, taking responsibility for your tasks, and interacting with people in a natural and friendly way. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve products such as prosciutto and cheeses with care and attention

• Offer tastings so customers can enjoy and discover new flavours

• Share simple product knowledge in a friendly and approachable way

• Keep displays and counters neat, stocked, and inviting

• Maintain cleanliness and order throughout the shop

• Carry out daily procedures such as opening, closing, and handling transactions responsibly

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous experience in food retail, delicatessen, or hospitality is an advantage

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Proficiency in both English and French

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

• Passion for food, especially Italian cuisine

• Reliable, attentive, and cooperative
