Maintenance Technician (PFT G4 & Putzmeister Pumps)

Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on PFT G4 and Putzmeister pumps (render/mortar/screed/concrete), both in the workshop and on site. Deliver fast fault-finding, repairs, testing, and support with machine delivery/collection and commissioning.

Mission

Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on PFT G4 and Putzmeister pumps (render/mortar/screed/concrete), both in the workshop and on site. Deliver fast fault-finding, repairs, testing, and support with machine delivery/collection and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnostics (mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic) on PFT G4 & Putzmeister units, compressors and peripherals (vibrators, hoppers, remotes, VFDs).
• Preventive maintenance: service schedules, lubrication, inspections, consumables (rotor/stator, seals, hoses, filters, check valves).
• Corrective maintenance: root cause analysis, parts replacement, functional testing (pressure/flow).
• Electrical (230/400 V three-phase): read schematics, verify protections, test insulation/continuity, replace contactors/overloads/sensors.
• Hydraulic/pneumatic: adjust pressure switches/relief valves, leak checks, hose terminations.
• Testing & QA: bench tests or on-site trials; issue test reports with photos.
• Logistics/transfer: prep machines, load/unload (pickup/trailer), securing/strapping, deliver/recover to/from site; basic operator handover.
• Parts & admin: identify references, pick parts, manage returns, basic stock min/max; complete job cards (time, parts, findings).
• Safety: apply OSHA 2005 (Mauritius), LOTO, PPE, safe lifting/handling; keep work area clean.

Required Qualifications:

• One of the following (or equivalent):
• MITD National Certificate/Diploma (NC/ND Level 3–4) in Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanics or Mechanical Engineering; or
• Polytechnics Mauritius Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical; or
• City & Guilds Level 2/3 (International) in Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance; or
• NVQ Level 3/4 (Maintenance/Mechanical/Electrical).
• HSC (or SC + technical trade certification) preferred.
• Valid Mauritian driving licence (Category B); trailer (EB)/light goods a plus.

Experience

• 2–5 years hands-on maintenance on pumps/plant (render/mortar/concrete) or heavy construction equipment.
• Direct exposure to PFT and/or Putzmeister strongly preferred.

Technical Skills

• Mechanical: pump groups, rotor/stator, seals, bearings, alignment.
• Electrical: 400 V 3-phase, protection settings, VFD basics, multimeter/clamp meter, insulation tester (megger).
• Hydraulics/pneumatics basics: gauges, pressure setting, valve maintenance.
• Read schematics/parts catalogues; tool use (torque wrench, pullers, crimpers, press, gas torch).
• Basic IT: job cards, photos, MS Office/WhatsApp for reporting.
