He/she holds the technical overall responsibility of all machinery, technical systems, plants, energy, etc. of the entire Hotel site. Strong accent is to be given to the technical service towards the guest as a prime goal and to maintain and develop the attitude of the related staff as a second.

 

Must be thoroughly familiar with all Operational Standards and ensure they are followed. He/she must accomplish responsibilities and goals as outlined below:

  • Assists in organisation of engineering administration.
  • Preventive Maintenance & Repair
  • Assists in handling, managing and sufficient storing of spare parts.
  • Safety & Fire
  • The following responsibilities within the frame of work:All technical installation on hotel plant, sewage system, fresh water plant, emergency generator, air condition system, irrigation systems, work shop, technical building, laundry & kitchen equipment, cooling systems, swimming pools, hotel lightening, in-house music & TV system, plumbing, carpentry, painting.

REPAIR & MAINTENANCE

 

a)    For all work executed, by own or external craftsmen, on the building, plants or technical installations he/she takes the responsibility.

b)    For emerging problems of bigger issue he/she consults a specialist, discusses the problem with the DOE or GM and records the taken decisions or procedures.

c)     Assists in implementing all necessary work procedures for preventive maintenance, initiates respective scheduled procedures and monitors carrying out of work as well as recording the results within appropriate filing system.

d)    Accordingly provides the sufficient and reasonable supply of spare parts on time.

e)    Determines for repair work the priorities and takes care for the quick removing of all breakdowns. Does not accept work which is not executed in a competent manner. Passes invoices for payment only when the execution of the work is done as preliminarily agreed and to full satisfaction.

f)      In case of disputes, involves the DOE for a decision.

g)    He/she is responsible for the storing of spare parts. Registers all incoming and outgoing items.

Assists the DOE to work out a concept of a yearly preventive maintenance program

 I)      Assists for establishing a monthly report of works carried out, machines maintained, special events, consumption of energy and water, etc. to the DOE and/or GM.

j)      Assists in controlling and endorsing all invoices for installations, tools spare parts and consumption of material and forwards them for payment to the accounting.

k)     Initiates, executes and/or monitors training of his/her staff for engineering matters.

l)      Assists and co-ordinates together with the Chief of Security proper Fire & Safety training for all staff of the hotel.

m)   Files and monitors all maintenance contracts and consults/advises the DOE/GM when needed.

Is aware of and informs about all agreements with local authorities, insurance companies, external firms, contractors and suppliers, controls their work and invoices.

  • o)    Attends daily operational meetings when DOE is on leave or off day

p)    Ensures all staff is thoroughly familiar with the hotel’s emergency procedures and in a state of preparedness for any emergency which may occur.

q)    Execution of regular technical/skills training. Is responsible for setting up and maintaining ongoing training programs in the Engineering division in conjunction with the Director of HR.

r)      Initiates Fire Fighting Training in co-ordination with the Chief of Security and the local authorities (Fire Brigade) on a regular basis for all Hotel departments.

s)     Assists in maintaining a monthly overview of vacation- and public holiday balance of all his/her staff and delivers a monthly consolidated summary to the Director of HR.

t)      Is familiar with all related company documentation and especially with the relevant Standard of Operation for his/her field of responsibility.

u)    Other duties as assigned.
