The Marketing & Communications Specialist will play a pivotal role in promoting Uniciti International Education Hub (UIEH) as a leading education destination in Mauritius.
Position Details:
The role involves developing and implementing integrated marketing and communication strategies to support student recruitment, enhance brand visibility, and position UIEH and its partner institutions as centres of academic excellence across local, regional, and international markets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Marketing
- Develop content and materials to market UIEH’s academic offerings, partner universities, and student life, including brochures, program guides, videos, presentations, and promotional materials.
- Manage targeted campaigns (digital, social, print, outdoor) aligned with student recruitment goals, using data-driven insights and student journey mapping
Communications
- Create compelling digital content including articles, blogs, success stories, student testimonials, videos, and infographics.
- Liaise with institutional partners and internal departments to produce timely and relevant communications about events, achievements, and opportunities.
- Coordinate with the Medine Shared Services Communications team for media placements and PR alignment.
Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with partner universities and institutions to co-create joint marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Assist in the preparation of marketing materials for institutional visits and partnership development events.
- Support brand management of institutional partners operating within UIEH.
Digital Marketing
- Manage the UIEH website and social media channels, ensuring they are up to date and aligned with campaign objectives.
- Track leads and student applications; support marketing automation efforts.
- Coordinate the collection, use, and interpretation of digital analytics to refine strategy.
Event Support
- Support the planning and execution of events such as graduation ceremonies, conferences, student orientations, speaker series, and public engagement programs.
- Ensure brand consistency and strategic messaging across all event materials.
Collaboration
- Internal: Work closely with the Head of Academic Affairs and Operations, Education Administrative Manager, Sales Specialist, Executive Training and Skills Development Specialist.
- External: Liaise with partner universities, media agencies, event organizers, local schools and colleges, and student recruitment agents.
Any other cognate duties as may be necessary in the circumstances and/or required by the employer.
Minimum Education Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field.
- A postgraduate degree is an advantage.
Minimun Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a marketing and communications role, preferably within an education, non-profit, or service industry environment.
- Experience working with academic institutions or in higher education marketing is a strong asset.
Required Skills:
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills in English and French.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Google Ads).
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp), web content management (e.g. WordPress), and analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics).
