The Software Developer is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and testing software solutions based on defined requirements, ensuring adherence to quality standards and agreed timelines.

 

The Software Developer is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and testing software solutions based on defined requirements, ensuring adherence to quality standards and agreed timelines.

The role also involves providing support to customers by diagnosing and resolving functional and technical issues, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.

Responsibilities

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT:

  • Develop Software based on specifications within agreed deadlines.
  • Abide to internal quality standards during software development.
  • Prioritize and execute maintenance tasks on an on-going basis.
  • Take ownership of software development projects/tasks: 

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE:

  • Liaise with customers to provide necessary technical assistance.
  • Analyze and correct bugs, according to development standards and within agreed time frame.

SOFTWARE TESTING:

  • Perform thorough unit, regression and integration tests to obtain correct results.

DOCUMENTATION:

  • Document provided solutions according to agreed standards.
  • Write and update technical specifications according to agreed standards.

TEST AUTOMATION:

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using testing frameworks or tools.
  • Creates comprehensive test documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer, future reference, and compliance purposes.

COLLABORATION & AGILE PRACTICES:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, Product Owners)
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
  • Share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement and team development. 

 PROFILE AND SKILLS

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • At least 3-4 years' experience in a similar role 
  • Essential production experience with: Java with Spring Boot, version control systems (Git, SVN), database migration tools (Liquibase), CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Nexus), code quality tools (SonarQube), and automated testing
  • Desirable production experience with: Angular, Java (Spring Boot), REST APIs, SQL databases (MySQL)
  • Strong communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Continuous learning mindset: Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and keeping up with industry trends.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies: Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies and the ability to work effectively in an iterative development environment.
